The 1st Gundaroo Scout Group formed at the beginning of 2009 after extensive planning by the Group Committee during 2008. The enormous support of the Gundaroo community ensured that there were ample volunteers who have been trained as leaders and who adminsiter the Group Committee. Each section of the group has been inundated with youth members joining. The 1st Gundaroo Scout Group has also been generously supported by the Soldier's Memorial Hall and through a substantial disbursement from the proceeds of the 2008 Gundaroo Bush Festival.

The Joeys Scout section (ages 6 - 7.5yo) meets on Tuesday nights and is working through an exciting program following the theme ‘Help Other People’. This includes learning about the environment, local history and community.

The Cub Scout section (ages 7.5 – 10.5yo) meets on Tuesday nights. The Cub program, designed to capture a child's imagination, is based around the Rudyard Kipling book The Jungle Book.

The Scout Section of the 1st Gundaroo Scout Group (ages 10.5 – 14.5yo) meets on Monday nights. Their motto is to ‘be prepared’. The Scouts regularly go camping where they are able to undertake a wide variety of activities. The program focuses on teaching Scouts how to make decisions and work as part of a team. This is done in small groups called Patrols, each has an older, more experienced Scout as a Patrol Leader which help develop the skills of the new Scouts.

Venturer Scouts (ages 14.5 – 18yo) meet on Wednesday nights. Their motto is to ‘look wide’ and this is facilitated by their program which focuses on four aspects; Adventurous Activities, Community Involvement, Leadership Development and Personal Growth. The Venturer Unit is run by the Venturers with leaders there to give advice. i.e. youth members work WITH the leaders, they are not told what to do by them.
