Shelby Canterford - Cub Leader (currently on leave)

Shelby's Scouting career started when her local Venturer unit, who had just allowed girls, let her hang around since there weren't any girls in the Scout section.  When she was old enough she was invested into Scouting as a Sea Scout.  While working for her Queen Scout award Shelby became a Cub Instructor (a youth helper), and continued with this after she had received the award.  On leaving school Shelby became a Rover, eventually becoming the Crew Leader and being recognised with the inaugural Peter and Andrew Fredrickson award for service. Shelby also joined the Special Forces Team: Face Painting Division, a part of Scouts ACT's special needs activities, a job she continues to do 10 years later.

Before leaving Rovers Shelby started as a Cub leader at First Canberra.

When she was unable to continue as a line leader due to work and study commitments she spent some time in the Water Activities team.  Shelby had a break from official leadership for 3 years before starting as the Cub leader at 1st Gundaroo.

Outside Scouting, Shelby enjoys singing in a choir who thinks that Mozart is terribly modern.  She works as a demographer/social researcher focusing on the social impacts of disaster.  She is married and has one 2 3/4 year old son.

Bagheera:
