10.5 - 14.5yo

Monday Night - 6:30pm - 8:30pm - Gundaroo Soldiers Memorial Hall

Scouts are 10.5 to 14.5 years old.  Scouting aims to encourage the physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development of young people.  It strives to teach positive values and leadership skills.  The aim is to inspire them to do their best, reach their full potential in life, and to take a constructive place in their local, national, and international communities. Scouts enjoy fun, adventurous and challenging programs with a focus on leadership and teamwork.
Scouts learn to share responsibilities and to live with each other through adventures set in the outdoors, but they also challenge their minds as not everyone looks for the outdoor buzz all the time.  Scouting is fun!

Meetings
The Scout Troop meets each Monday during school term, from 6.30pm – 8.30pm at the Soldier’s Memorial Hall in Gundaroo.  These meetings include playing games, building individual and team Scouting skill levels, having fun, and planning for weekend adventures.

Troop Structure
Scouts learn how to make decisions and work as part of a team in a small group called a Patrol.  A Patrol has 4 to 8 members where an older, more experienced Scout will be the Patrol Leader and will help to develop the skills of the other patrol members.   An Assistant Patrol Leader supports the Patrol Leader. Each Patrol has its own name and identity, usually and Australian animal.

Uniform
A shirt, belt and scarf are the basic Scout uniform it consists of the dark blue shirt with the section colour, which is Green for Scouts, across the sleeve, yoke and collar.  The Scout Group supplies scarf and badges.

Motto
The Scout motto is “Be Prepared”.
