The 1st Gundaroo Scout Group would like to welcome all interested teens aged between 14.5 and 18yo. Venturers step out further than Scouts. They attend more adventurous activities, in fact they have the ability and are encouraged to organise their own activities.

Venturing is all about making friends, working as a team and developing leadership skills. The experiences that you will find in venturing will stay with you for a lifetime. You will have the opportunity to travel and meet other likeminded people around Australia, and sometimes even overseas.

Venturers are able to go abseiling, rock climbing, caveing, skiing, snow camping, hiking, build flying foxes, waterskiing, in fact anything that they would like. There are leaders with nationally recognised qualifications to enable these activities to be conducted in a very safe and fun way. Venturers are also able attend training courses and become instructors in adventurous activities themselves.

Venturing experiences do not just develop your physical skills. You will meet with various challenges, experience new situations, and develop your independence. Leaders are there as a guide, you work alongside them, rather than being told what to do by them. Venturers run their own Unit, the leaders are there for the Venturers to draw on their experiences and contacts to get the best out of the program that you design to suit your needs.
